Your Sacred Cottage: Deepening the connection between your faith, your work, and your Church wasn’t written from a desk. It was shaped on front porches, in late-night conversations, and in board rooms. I spent years walking alongside people who were quietly wrestling with the same question I was: How do I live a faith that shows up everywhere — not just at church, but in my work, my decisions, and my ordinary life?
For sixteen years, I served as a pastor — first in Southern Ontario, then Prince Edward Island, British Columbia, and Alberta. Every place shaped me and every community deepened this question. I began to notice a pattern. Many people weren’t struggling with faith because they didn’t believe, they were struggling because they didn’t know how to connect it to the rest of their life.
That’s what led me here. To this book. To this work. To this vision of helping people build a life of purpose where work, faith, and Church are connected in the one goal of making a positive impact in the world.

It all started when a Buddhist Philosophy Professor told me, "I've read your Bible, and I want to make sure you understand who you follow. Make sure you understand your God encompasses everything." This forced me to face the fact that I had been compartmentalizing God. Keeping him in the Church on Sunday, or in my prayer time, or maybe in my ethical decision making. What if I took it seriously that God was involved in, and interested in, everything we do?
As I continued to deepen my understanding of how our faith interacts with our everyday lives, I wanted to help business owners, leaders, and everyday people rediscover the sacredness of their work. My focus became clear: to bridge the gap between faith and work, and to help the local Church become a place where that connection is nurtured and we are equipped to do our everyday work better.
